2013 ~ so far
It has been way too long since we posted, well, pretty much anything on our blog. Facebook is sometimes too easy, but it leads to choppy records with little context.
I'm up early today, from 3am, thinking too much about what is happening right now. We are still in a rental house, and it will be five months after our fire tomorrow. It is not a big deal, really. But our vision of returning home to a comfortable and fully-complete house is not yet reality.
Meanwhile, our kids are growing and oh-so-fun. Enya is 3 1/2, talkative and happy, and learning to have and be a friend. Aidan has a little pack of buddies at school, but loves all the kids at Renaissance. We couldn't be happier with the school, which is a tiny private school in Portland that is just starting out, but already fully formed, somehow. We have good friends in Portland and scattered around the country, and the world. Life is really good in many ways.
Here is the link to Chris' year-so-far video. He is doing a project recording 1 second every day this year. It's intense, and lovely, I think.
I'm working on uploading photos from late 2011 to now, too.

Aidan's first day of school
Aidan was prepared for his first day. What he was probably not prepared for: his teary-eyed parents. As he walked down the stairs to kindergarten and all the excitement of Renaissance school, we sniffled and tears welled up. He's so grown up in so many ways, but still so young. I love how brave he was even as we were not.
Late summer fun
Soup night spent a week in Rogue River, visited Top of the World Ranch in the gorge, and generally had a great late-summer. The middle picture of Aidan is the very image of relaxation. He really knows how to chill.

Enya's first day of pre-preschool
Enya's first day of preschool was fast approaching. We were concerned about her because she'd only ever been with Chris, me or Crystal (and sometimes MargaPops). So we signed her up for day camp for one week in the summer.
We needn't have worried. Here is how she looked as Chris dropped her off.
